The Giufa Project

Giufa is very dear to me. Our adventure started in the summer of 2017 when I was asked to create the visual concept and website for this amazing international project.
The brief asked for a character with no identity – basically an antithesis, as the word “character” implies individuality & personality. Was not a short journey, and the first weeks were mainly defined by me trying to overcome the relationship between the two opposing ideas. Stories from all over the world, about the character named Giufa, or Cecco, or Jha, or El Tonto (the list is longer, but I will stop here), helped build this visual creation, as not a single stroke of brush or line of ink is a random choice.
