Always had a soft spot for books, and as it seems also for their covers.

Mainly intrigued by the ways one can represent a whole world in only one image, suggestive enough that anyone would get it, but careful enough not to reveal any of the book’s hidden keys – Nobody likes a spoiler.

Was recently asked what’s the process when creating a book cover and how it’s decided what goes on the cover? Well, it is not mathematics… Basically, after both the publishing house and the designer get acquainted with the book’s subject and style, together with the author decide what would be the best elements to be represented on the cover. Naturally, after this step, the designer starts sketching and when the work reaches a satisfying result, sends it to the publishing house and author for review. Sometimes changes are required and after clearing the final version, the cover is being prepared and sent for printing.

Might seem like quite a fast and easy process, but the speed of everything usually depends not only on day-to-day life and it’s surprises, but also on inspiration, creative flow and a clear sharp mind ready to lay on paper (or tablet) whatever it sees.
